JUNE in pictures

7. Tempura for dinner in Kanazawa, which was nothing short of delicious and extremely affordable.

9. I had a lot of fun with the yoghurt and fruit selection at the breakfast buffet in Osaka-- so, can I set up my own yoghurt bar yet?

11. I was met with this sight when I walked home from the bus-stop one day after work and happened to glance at a car window, on which I saw the reflection of the sky. I was both freaked out and amazed at the same time.

12. Munch Rosti birthday treat from a cousin.

13. Caught a sliver of a rainbow from one of the office windows on my second last day of work! I was the only person excitedly taking photos of the rainbow, being the overgrown child that I am.

14. Farewell gifts from the colleagues. I can't believe I've finally ended 6 long months of work, but honestly it has been an amazing experience, and I had a lot of fun and good times working. I feel extremely thankful to have met such friendly colleagues, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

How's June been for you all? I had a pretty good one, what with my holiday to Japan, but it's back to earth for me now. I'm still taking my last few chances to be a couch potato before university starts for real, and have been overloading myself with missed/old episodes of Running Man. MAY in pictures

1. Happy Birthday to my dearest friend, who has been with me for 6 years, and hopefully for many more! I'll miss you when we finally go to different schools after 6 years, but I know we will keep in touch.

2. A Sophie chocolate bun from a colleague.

3. DIY sewing project: a new floral kimono! Many thanks to Leen and Jess who spent the afternoon traipsing around Chinatown with me; I literally searched every single shop to get the perfect fabric.

4. Vegan Burg with Siu: Cracked Mayo Burger & Seaweed Fries.

5. By some stroke of luck, Starbucks was giving out free Caramel Ribbon Crunches, and I managed to get one. The 'less sweet' version is much more edible than the original, and this fulfilled my sugar craving for the day.

6. Need I say more? Marshmallow clouds.

7. I'm going to miss the view from my staff canteen when I officially end work at the end of the month.

8. Fridays in casual denim on denim. 

9. New Peanuts shirts from Uniqlo for my mum and I as a Mother's Day gift.

10. Packing my accessories stash was no easy feat, and guess what? They're all messed up again. I guess it's just not in me to be neat, heh. 

11. A mishmash of new items that I acquired, including my Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream and Nyx Butter Lip Gloss in Creme Brulee.

12. A peek of my seafoam green sweater sleeve (outfit post on that up soon!) and a vanilla latte coffee treat from a colleague. (The verdict is that I'm not really too partial to vanilla lattes.)

13. RProject 2014- Down the Rabbit Hole paraphernalia. I have missed Runway more than I thought.

15. Beard Papa, a farewell gift from a colleague for his last day. All the best in  your future endeavours!

16. A little beauty I found outside the office building on my way back from lunch! They're everywhere now, and are called the Tropical Swallowtail Moth, or lyssa zampa. They're just gorgeous, and on average they span the size of my hand, yet another of nature's beautiful creations. 

17. In one of my best-fitting dresses ever, along with armcandy of a mysterious Starbucks Frappucino. The barista told me it was a special drink that I could only get there from him, and boy it was good. I wish I could get it again! 

18. Channelling some Dorothy of Oz in my new gingham midi, which I am absolutely in love with. It's going with me in my suitcase to Japan.

19. A snack mix of MnMs, which includes all my favourite things-- salted snack pretzels, chocolate chip cookies, and MnMs, though I'm not too big on the roasted peanuts.

20. NBS tea session, coincidentally at the same hotel ballroom where I had my prom last year.

21. My colleague baked macarons. I have put on 2 kg since I started work. You connect the dots. 

22. Lunch treat for my cousin at Munch-- Roasted Chicken, with salmon salad for me, and quinoa for her. The salmon servings were so generous and I was literally in meat heaven.

23. Thursdays in tartan.

24. Gloomy Fridays in an all black outfit-- I looked like a walking human crow. 

Just a quick instagram post before I turn off my computer, because I'm going to be flying off soon! I cannot wait for my vacation (the first one ever since 2014 started) and I'm looking forward to buying loads of goodies in the land of Hello Kitties. I'll see you all in a week.

APRIL in pictures

Behold, the April edition of my Instagram photos.

1. White Chocolate Mocha treat from my cousin, which tastes nothing like coffee-- perfect (albeit a tad too sweet) for me, since I cannot understand why people like the bitter taste of coffee.

2. A really gorgeous tree in front of one of my neighbour's house-- it has the prettiest flowers but I have no idea what tree it is.

3. Matchy-matchy shoes with the fallen flower petals on the floor-- I love the time of the year when the trees bloom, because it seems so rare in Singapore.

4. Spontaneous lunch with Leen at Cedele, in our sloppiest clothes and spectacles, with way too much bread because we were too excited about the bread bar.

5. Smiley face butterless chocolate chip cookies that ended up looking a bit like Domo Kun because I did not space them out properly on the tray.

6. A close up of the flowers on the tree (in picture 2)-- one word: Beautiful.

7. Mystery muffin that was on my table when I arrived at work one morning (it turns out a colleague baked it).

8. Butterless White Chocolate Raisin Muffins from a basic plain muffin base recipe I found. Mmm raisins.

9. The Singapore version of Sakura-- I took this photo at a garden near my house when the trees were in full bloom. The feeling of watching the pink velvety petals float gently to a floor already covered in a tapestry of flowers is beyond divine.

10. My first ever company dinner at an Indonesian restaurant-- a fun and new experience.

11. The staff canteen actually had an Easter feast day, with aglio olio, chicken kebab, garlic bread, and even an Easter Egg jelly. How cute is that!

12. Macdonald's has totally levelled up their ice cream cones. Enough said.

13. Japanese Spaghetti with Shimeiji mushrooms, bacon, and salmon-- had dinner with my brotherhood, and I have missed them so very much.

14. My shopping hauls from H&M, and I love them so much that I have already worn all of them and fallen more deeply in love with them.

15. Butterless Mudcake (recipe from averlynn's) that was gobbled up really quickly by the family.

16. My new buy from The Vintage Stash, along with a gifted notebook from them. Everything is customized and pretty amazing, so they're worth checking out on Facebook.

17. Easter nails, which are quite possibly the most complicated nails I've ever done. I don't celebrate Easter, but hey, at least I can have the commercialized versions of Easter in the form of bunnies and chicks and Easter eggs on my fingers.

18. A chocolate cupcake with minty butter frosting from a colleague, the moment I stepped into the office. It was delicious. I am getting fat.

19. I made the long, hot walk to Amoy Street for lunch, and a colleague treated me to Fish Dumpling Horfun (on the second floor), which is quite possibly the best dumplings I have ever eaten in my life. Even right now, I am craving for them.

20. Close ups of electric blue laser cut-outs and jersey pinstripes. Just because I can.

21. The search for the perfect and elusive Butterless Double Chocolate Chip Cookie continues, though these did turn out much better than my previous attempt.

22. A colleague had free coupons for Starbuck's new drinks, so I managed to snag a Banana & Mango Frappucino, which basically reminds me of a smoothie.

MARCH in pictures

It feels a little strange to be doing a "March in pictures" when it's already more than a week into April, but that's where procrastination has landed me. I thought I'd do this each month, since there are photos in Instagram that never make it to my blog. Without further ado, this is MARCH in pictures.
1. Butterless Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies -- triple because the cookie is chocolate, and there are both white and dark chocolate chips inside. It's a recipe I got off the internet, and I'm still trying to find a way to make the recipe work because I altered it to my own purposes.  2. It's been quite some time since You Who Came From The Stars ended, but I feel like I can say that it's definitely made it to the list of 'favourite shows' that I will enthusiastically recommend to anybody who is on the lookout for a good drama to watch. Also, I drew this because I fell completely in love with the houndstooth coat she wore in one of the last few episodes-- how she manages to look so effortlessly put together and perfect is beyond me. If I had the time/skill to do it, I would draw each and every one of her outfits because they all look so amazing. 3. I loved drawing this picture because I was practically bouncing in my seat every day at work, counting down the hours till I got to go home and continue drawing this, and that is the best feeling ever. Frozen must have left a larger impact on me than I thought.

4. Butterless Double Chocolate Muffins -- One of the photos taken while experimenting with my new camera, crouched over a table with the muffins. As you might be able to tell, I'm a big fan of chocolate. This is by far the best butterless chocolate recipe I've ever made.

5. On Siu's last day of work, we celebrated by buying a drink each from Starbucks (my first time ever buying one, actually) and camwhoring and taking lots of photos with our drinks. I do find it rather cool that th first drink I ever bought is coincidentally called the Hazelnut Frappe. I've developed a rather strange craving for it ever since then, unfortunately.

6. What originally started off as an attempt to paint blood red flowers on black nails ended up as something I like to call abstract art-- random streaks of red paint drawn on after a couple of failed attempts on two nails, in a bid to disguise the messed up flowers. I'd like to think that I succeeded in making them (sort-of) presentable.

7. The best thing about working life is that when I manage to leave the office on time, I get to see a different sunset every single day, since I don't reach home at any exact same time daily, and even if I did, the sky would still look different. This sunset was so gorgeous, all pinks and purples and gorgeous rays of the last sunlight streaming through the clouds.

8. I'd originally planned for this to be more elaborate, but...

9. Same sky, yet a completely different painting. This was taken in almost the exact same location (as shown by the tree silhouettes) and yet the sky looks so completely different. I could stare at the photos of the sunset all day and never stop being amazed. 

Meanwhile, I need to stop procrastinating on outfit posts, but it's difficult to do that when all I want to do is watch old Disney movies and put all thoughts of university out of my mind. It's pretty difficult though when all everyone is talking about is university, university, and yet more university.
